My expertise is in Neuroscience. I have been a Professor at the University of Cambridge for many years. I am interested in discovering design principles that govern the structure and function of neurons and neural circuits. It is interesting in the age of Artificial Intelligence to compare the brain to a computer. In the past, I have investigated several general problem areas related to the brain. How are circuits designed to integrate information efficiently? How do sensory adaptation and synaptic plasticity contribute to efficiency? My expertise is in UK literature and Shakespeare. I have been acting professionally for eight years and studied Classical Text at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Alongside this I have appeared in BBC and Weinstein productions such as “Doctors” and “Burnt.” I also work with the University of Cambridge as part of the Clinical Communication Skills programme at Addenbrookes Hospital.
